Laser Ablation Transfer Technology
Laser Ablation Transfer (LAT) Technology applies the ink pigment directly onto the chosen printing stock as is done on the printing press itself. This process accounts for the low optical gain values associated with the Prediction system. There are no adhesives or heavy pigment thicknesses to alter the image. When dot gain curves are similar, make-ready times on press are greatly reduced. This can result in significant cost savings in the pressroom.
This is a diagram of how our patented LAT Technology works:

It is worth noting that the image spot size for the Prediction system is very precise only 10 microns wide, as compared to much larger image spot sizes for competing proofing products. In addition, the proof is protected by an ultra-thin clear finish only 4 microns thick! This allows the Prediction system to maintain the minimum dot gain so that matching the proof on press is more reliable and predictable than ever.
